Vanessa's Wedding

Vanessa and I have been friends since the 7th grade. I don't remember the exact details on how we became friends, but she does. She says it has to do with our mutual hate for another girl in our class. Anyway, today was her wedding day. Last night was her rehearsal dinner, where friends and family sort of "roasted" the bride and groom, especially the groom. Today, the wedding was at Saint Mary Catholic Church. I did a reading from the book of Genesis. I hope I did a good job. I got re-acquainted with Jennifer from high school and her husband. They were super nice. They've got two boys now, and they live in North Carolina, about 15 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Vanessa wore a gorgeous off-the-shoulder white gown with swarovski crystals. (I'll upload pics later.) And the bridesmaids all wore beige/tan with white sashes. They were the prettiest bridesmaid dresses I have ever seen at a wedding! Everything was gorgeous for the ceremony too. It was held at the Lodge where we were staying. There's this balcony that overlooks mountains and valleys and peaks. So dramatic with the sun and the trees. I again apologize for not uploading the pics yet. On the centerpieces, there were rocks with words like peace and harmony and little flowers on top of other rocks and candles she had handmade with leaves melted into the wax. So Vanessa. The cake was beautiful, and the food was delicious! I could've eaten another plate. We also danced until our feet hurt. Jason, whom I had only met last night, DJ'd a long set and kept everyone on the dance floor. They looked really, really happy. It was also so fun to see Vanessa's family members. Her sister, Beth, is really grown up now. She used to watch, "Dirty Dancing," with us when she was about 3. Her brother looks very different from what he looked like when he was a kid, her dad looked the same, and her mom looked hotter than I even remembered her. She gave a really great speech that made everyone cry. All in all, such a lovely evening. I can't believe it! My friend of 20 years (she reminded me of this fact at the rehearsal dinner) is now married!! And she and her husband look amazingly happy. Congrats, and have a blast on your honeymoon in Spain!!
