No one will take care of you better than you

I always believe this to be true, and recently someone I know got into a bit of a public jam because she didn't heed these words. I don't blame her, but if she had taken care of herself first and not compromised, she may not be in the position she's in now. Reading this back to myself...it sounds so harsh. But I don't mean it that way. I mean it in the best way possible...with lots of love and empathy. I was even depressed for her after I found out. It is sort of a mom's "I told you so..." and I hate sounding like a mom, but then again...moms do usually know best.
