Texas!

Last weekend, Lynn, Anthony & I went to see Willie Nelson, and I must say I felt proud when the Texas flag made a very prominent appearance on stage at the Hollywood Bowl. Willie was, of course, the BEST! He's been my hero for a long time now. Have you heard of Willie's IRS troubles? Well, when Willie Nelson got audited by the IRS and forced to pay back taxes but couldn't...the IRS seized all of his possessions...cars, houses, land, guitars, etc. And what I heard was...when the IRS put all of Willie Nelson's items up for auction, his friends bought as much as they could...and a lot of them returned it back to him! Now, you may be thinking...that's what friends do. But think about it...he's an entertainer...and most of the time, as soon as something bad happens, all of their "friends" disappear. But Willie Nelson...he must have true blue friends. And he must be a great friend, himself. Because not only did his friends NOT disappear...but they actually went above and beyond when Willie was down and out. That's the kind of friend I'd like to be...there for the good times and the bad.

This weekend...I'm going back to Texas! The documentary is screening in my hometown of Arlington...home of the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys & the Stars! The film starts at 5pm at the University of Texas at Arlington, where both of my parents attended college and grad school. It's screening in the Lonestar Theater 500 W. Neddermen Dr.Arlington, TX 70013. Ya'll come on out! Afterwards, I'd love to go to Spring Creek BBQ! I need my fill of BBQ and Tex-Mex this weekend!
